Mother's Day Card - Free Craft Instructions - Kids Craft
April 26th 2008 05:28
Make something special for Mum this Mother's Day. She will love this beautiful woven heart card.
Materials Required
1. Three pieces of A4 paper or card - three different colours that compliment each other work best.
2. Paper glue
3. Your choice of embellishments - eg. jewels, beads, punch art, glitter glue, ribbon...the list is endless
Instructions
1. Print out the templates (below) onto the A4 card. The woven heart needs printing twice, onto two different coloured pieces of card or paper. The heart card template is best printed onto card.

2. Cut out the shapes, and along the lines marked into the heart halves that will be woven.
3. Weave the two pieces of each heart together. You will be making two hearts, use one piece of each colour for each heart.
4. Glue the loose pieces of the woven hearts together, and if necessary trim the edges of the hearts. Turn them over so the black markings are hidden. Fold the Heart Card in half.
5. Glue on woven heart onto the front of the heart card, and the other onto the back of your card. Embellish your card to suit your taste. I used glitter glue and jewels to brighten up my card.

Make the woven heart first.
The two sides of the hearts have to be identical in size and shape if you would like them to fit together neatly.
Make the backing card second.
Then fold your chosen backing card in half, place your woven heart on it, 1.5cm from the fold, and use that as a guide to help you draw a heart shape with a border of 1.5 cm around the woven heart. You must leave a 3-4cm piece along the fold that is not to be cut. This will hold the two sides of your card together.
Then cut out the backing card, and adhere your woven heart to the front.
Write your own sentiments inside the card.
Have fun!
