Tree Frog Card Making Free ideas instructions rubber stamping Fern Gully Stamps
Tree Frog Card

Materials Required:

Stamps: Fern Gully Stamps "Tree Frog 2G8BA"
Inks: StazOn Jet Black
Greeting Card Base: White card base 21cm x 15cm, scored and folded in half. The fold will be a tthte top of the card.
Card and Paper: Scraps in varying shades of blue, cream, grey and brown
Colouring Tools: Watercolour pencils in greens, browns and yellows
Other Tools: Craft knife, paintbrush or aquabrush, paper trimmer, heat tool
Other: White glue, Three dimensional medium (I used DecoArt Paper effects -clear/transparent)

Instructions:

1. Stamp the tree frog onto the front of the white greeting card, using the black ink. Use photo as a guide for positioning. Dry the ink using a heat tool .

2. Colour in the frog and log using the watercolour pencils, again use the photo as a guide.

3. Using the aquapen or a paintbrush dipped in water, gently blend the colours on the frog.

4. Stamp the top half of the frog image onto a piece of light blue card (or paper). Use the craft knife to cut out the image, on the inner side of the line. (NB: You will be discarding the frog/log image and keeping the outer part, and the outer line of the frog image should be on the piece of paper you are keeping).

5. Glue this around the top of the frog/log image on the white greeting card, matching up the lines of the stamp.

6. Stamp the bottom half on the frog image onto dark blue card (or paper). Use the craft knife to cut out the image, on the inner side of the line. (NB: You will be discarding the frog/log image and keeping the outer part).

7. Glue this around the bottom of the frog/log image on the white greeting card.

8. Take a piece of medium blue card, with a straight edge of 15cm, and tear along the opposite edge. Glue this piece along the top fold of the card, with the straight edge level with the fold, so that you do not have to do much trimming along this edge later.

9. Tear up other pieces of card, and layer them onto the white greeting card, creating the sky, cloud, log and water images over the white card. Make sure that the white is completely covered. Don't worry if they overlap the edges, you can trim these off at the end. Use the photo as a guide for colours and placement.

10. When finished layering paper, allow the glue to dry, then trim the sides of the card to level with the greeting card using the paper trimmer.
NB: When doing the top edge of the card, be careful not to cut into the fold.

11. Cover the frog image carefully with the three dimensional medium. This is cloudy when it goes on, but will dry clear. Allow to dry.
