Teacher's Day Card
Instructions:
1. Make a card base by folding a piece of blue card measuring 24cm wide by 30cm high in half.
2. Rip a piece of white paper, measuring approximately 18cm wide by 10cm high, from a spiral note pad. Use black blending chalk and an eye-shadow applicator to darken the edges.
Stamp "Happy Teachers Day" onto the card using grey ink. I used "stone grey" made by "Ancient Page".
3. Make a pencil:
Firstly cut a piece of dark blue card 3cm high by 17 cm long. Cut a zig-zag pattern along one end.
Cut a piece of grey card 3cm high by 2 cm wide and adhere it onto the dark blue piece, on the opposite end to the zig zag, as shown on the picture above.
Cut a piece of pink card 3cm high by 3 cm long. Round two of the corners and attach it to the grey card, as shown in the picture above.
Cut a piece of light brown card 3cm high by 2cm long and attach it the the zig-zag end of the blue card. Trim both sides at an angle to make the point of the pencil. The part of the pencil tip where the "lead" emerges should be approximately 1cm across.
Attach a piece of black card to the pencil tip, and trim it to form the pointed lead of the pencil. Snip off a tiny bit of the point to make it looked like it has been used to write with.
Use black blending chalk to shade in areas on the pencil to make it look more 3-dimensional.
4. Make an apple:
Cut an apple shape from red card - approximately 5 cm high and 5 1/2 cm wide. Cut a stem shape form dark brown card, and a leaf shape from green card. Shade them all with black blending chalk, as shown. Then add a highlight to the apple using white blending chalk, as shown.
5. Assemble the card, as shown.
OPTIONAL: You could print our a teacher's day verse (see previous post) to use inside your card.
