Holly Embossed Card
Materials Required:
1. Card - white base card (21cm x 15cm, scored and folded in half), red, black and green, one sheet white A4 card (to go in the printer)
2. Printer (Black ink)
3. Punches - Holly leaf, small circle
4. Adhesives - white glue, double sided sticky tape (DSST)
5. Sizzix Big shot machine and embossing folder (Tim Holtz Alterations 656645 Burlap and Swirls Set)
6. Paper Trimmer
7. Paper embossing tool
Instructions:
1. Print out the Merry Christmas Template (below). Cut out one Merry Christmas panel, and emboss it using the Big Shot machine and the Swirls embossing folder.
Printing Instructions:
PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE PRINTING
Click on the Template image below.
Once the image has opened, click on "file" in the main menu, then scroll down and click on "print preview"
*Important* You may need to go to the "Shrink to Fit" option at the top of the screen and choose a suitable size of this image for your paper. Try 30% first.
You can check the margins and positioning of the template on your printed paper, and change them if you desire, before printing with this option.
When you are ready, click the printer symbol.
Back your panel with black card by using DSST to adhere it onto a pice of black card leaving a small margin on two sides, then using a paper trimmer to cut it to the right size (see pictures below for guide).
2. Gently tear two panels of card. Firstly your green piece (approx 16cm x 9cm before tearing). Hold the piece of card in one hand, and with the other hand tear off the edge, pulling upwards (as per picture) to leave a mulitcoloured tear line. Turn the card around and tear off the other side in the same way. Finished width should be approximately between 6cm to 7cm in diameter. Do the same wth a red piece of card (approx 16cm x 6cm before tearing). The finished width should be approximately 3.5cm and 4.5cm in diameter.
3. Use DSST to adhere the red torn card onto the green torn card (see picture below), lining up one edge of the two pieces carefully. Then use DSST to adhere these onto the base card, again lining up one edge carefully.
4. Use a paper trimmer to remove excess torn card from the edge (see picture below).
5. Use DSST to adhere the Merry Christmas card panel to the front of the card.
6. Punch out six small circles for the berries (I used a normal paper punch, circle size aprox 0.5cm). Give them 3-dimensions by turning them over, placing them on a foam or cork mat and rubbing a paper embosser on them in a circular motion.
7. Punch out four Holly leaves.
8. Glue the Holly leaves and berries onto the card.
