Sequin Decorative Eggs
Materials Required:
1. Foam (polystrene) Easter Egg (available from craft stores)
2. Pins (if you can find them, the short (about half length) ones are great, otherwise normal, plain silver-topped pins are fine)
3. Round sequins of your choice.
The multi-faceted, slightly rounded sequins (as used above) are best. Flat sequins will not sit nicely on the rounded surface of the egg.
4. Small beads (seed beads) of your choice. The hole in the middle of the bead must be big enough for the pins to fit through.
Instructions:
1. Taking a pin, thread one small bead onto it.
Sit one sequin on the very top of the pointed end of the egg.
Push the pin through the sequin into the egg.
2. The next row of sequins is then started. Each sequin should be placed so that it overlaps the one above and beside is, making sure that all of the foam egg is covered as you work around.
The last sequin in the row should overlap the first.
Each row is completed separately, and try and keep each row as even as possible.
Each sequin is secured using a pin that has a small bead threaded onto it.
See the diagram below which demonstrates how you start your sequin placement.
3. Once you finish the first row, you then commence another row below it, and so on until you reach the bottom of the egg.
4. The last sequin will cover the remaining small hole on the very bottom of the egg.
