Christmas Card - the JOY of CHRISTMAS

Materials Required:

1. Card: White piece plain A5 Card (150mm x 210mm) (scored and folded in half to make a base card); Bazzill Blackberry
2. Ink: White
3. Embellishments: Kaiser Rub-ons - christmas words of your choice; 3 metal stars; Kaiser self-adhesive clear rhinestones; thin silver wire, beads - clear stars and ring shapes.
4. Adhesives: Tape, Double-sided sticky tape (DSST), Double sided foam mounting tape.
5. Cutting instruments: Paper trimmer
6. Other: drawing pin; ruler

Instructions

1. Swipe the edges of 3 pieces of Blackberry card 10mm x 150 mm; 10mm x 150mm and 60mm x 150mm with white ink.

2. Make a hole (using the drawing pin) in the 60mm x 150mm piece of card near the left upper corner. Push the end of a piece of silver wire through the hole a short distance, and secure it on the back of the card with tape. Cut the wire at about 80mm long from the hole. Thread on a star bead, secure it by wrapping the wire around it, and then make another hole near the base of the card(approx 45 mm in from the edge), push the end of the wire through and secure it on the back with tape. Use the photograph to help with placement of your holes. Repeat this process with another three pieces of wire and beads, to create the zig-zag effect as shown.

3. Adhere this and the two thin strips of Blackberry card onto the base card. Positioning them as shown in the photograph.

4. Adhere the metal stars in position using the foam mounting tape.

5. Embellish the card further with the self-adhesive rhinestones.

6. Adhere the rub on words "the JOY of CHRISTMAS" or other words of your own choice.

Christmas Cards - Using Rub Ons

Here are some more Christmas Cards ideas. - These cards are decorated using Christmas Rub-ons by kaiser Craft.
Rub-ons are a really easy and simple way to make a plain card look great.

Tag Card 1

I recently brought some new jeans and loved the labels that came with them. I trimmed them to size, sanded them (with sandpaper) for a worn look, and decorated them with Rub-ons. Then I used them to make Christmas Cards.

This card has the edges sponged with black ink.

Tag Card 2

For this card I used black card with a white core. I sanded it, allowing some of the inner white to show through, matching it to the look of the sanded tag. I also sponged the edges with dark brown ink to match the brown colours in the tag.

Tag Card 3

This card is similar to the first, but here I again used some of the black card with the white core so that when sanded the centre colour shows through.

Tag Card 4

This card uses dark black card, and I have sponged the edges of the cream piece of card with black ink to help it blend to the base card. I also used a black brad to tie the tag's string around for extra decoration.

These embellishments make card creation easy, and are great if you are short on time or ideas.

Handy Hint: Shop for next christmas soon after this one. I brought packs of pre-made stick-on embellishments on sale for 10c (RRP $3) a packet during the post christmas sales last year.
